Azerai La Residence Hue was something truly beyond words - an experience shaped by history, elegance and a quiet kind of luxury. Set along the Perfume River, directly opposite the Imperial Citadel (the “Purple City”), the hotel carries a deep sense of place that you feel the moment you arrive.
The building itself is stunning - a former French colonial governor’s residence from the 1930s, now beautifully restored in a refined Art Deco style. Long lines, soft curves and timeless details blend old-world charm with modern sophistication, creating an atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate at the same time.
Every corner tells a story.
The culinary experience was unforgettable. The chef created delicate, thoughtful dishes with surprising and refined flavour combinations - a true highlight of the stay. I later learned he has been recognised nationally as one of Vietnam’s most accomplished chefs, which was clearly reflected in every plate served.
The hotel itself feels like a calm sanctuary in the heart of Hue. The pool area is serene and elegant, surrounded by greenery, and the gym is one of the most well-equipped and beautiful I have experienced in Vietnam.
Our room opened onto a balcony overlooking the garden - peaceful, spacious and filled with light. Service throughout the stay was exceptional: attentive, warm and effortless in a way that never felt intrusive.
Azerai La Residence Hue is not just a hotel - it is history, architecture and atmosphere woven together. Quietly luxurious, deeply rooted in its surroundings, and impossible to forget.
